FIELD TRIP to HAMBURG 2016
In 11-20 June 2016, METU MUD Studio re-visited Hamburg within the field trip of the year. The studio group has been collaborated with the Urban Design Department in HafenCity University (HCU) Hamburg. For that purpose, with an intensive workshop, a series of lectures were given on the refugee problem in Turkey and Germany, and possible strategies of design and planning were collectively discussed to create a future perspective on the issue. The METU MUD group also participated to the preliminary jury of the urban design studio at HCU Hamburg and presented its own projects conducted under the title of ‘futurist urbanism’. The trip involved a series of site visits including IBA neighborhoods (i.e. Wilhelmsburg) in Hamburg, Lubeck and Travemünde.
