The final jury of the ‘Recovery Urbanism’ Studio of METU MUD was held with the contribution o the visiting jury members. Prof. Dr. Baykan Gunay (TEDU), Prof. Dr. Namik Erkal (TEDU), Necati Uyar (Ege Plan), M. Nazim Ozer (Ministry of Environment and Urbanism) and Banu Aksel Gurun (BC Kentsel Tasarım ve Mimarlık) on January 16, 2017.
Under the theme of the studio course, six group projects have been triggered a fruitful discussion on the regenerative relationship between war, city and design. In the form of advanced urban design research, the projects involved the systemic definition of the context, concept and the model as generic design methodology. Each project, in this framework, was questioned the possibilities of new spatial conditions for the regeneration of the injured fabric of the cities after military conflict in the specific context of Surici, Diyarbakir.
