Alaçatı Urban Project

İzmir Alaçatı chosen as the project site by METU UD Studio is a small town located on Çeşme peninsula of İzmir. The town has very unique residential character with typical stone houses located in the old town center and peculiar streetscape comprising numerous building elements. Therefore, the main aim of the studio was to identify characteristic features of structures and streets, which also determine the basic framework for the components of the new urban identity to be compatible with the specified character and the needs of the settlement.
